Getting Started

Welcome to Gallatin's online course for students studying abroad.

To get started, please read over the instructions for creating an account. Give your username some thought, and when you're ready, go ahead and create your account on the website.

If you have already taken a course on the Travel Studies website, you don't need to create a new user name, but please log in and click on "My Account," and then click on "Edit," then "General Information," and add the study abroad site where you'll be.

Next, take a look at the assignment page so you can get an idea of what’s ahead.  The first post is due on Wednesday, Jan. 25, but you can do it anytime now.   Keeping up with the assignments is about the hardest part of the class, so do your best not to fall behind, and if you have any problems, please send me a note.

All the course materials are online except for the two travel books you're assigned to read.  You can choose any books off the suggested reading list for your abroad site.  If you want to make a substitution, please let me know.

So far 13 students have signed up for the course, so there should be at least one person at most of the NYU sites.   You’ll be able to see where everyone is on the “Who’s who and where” page.

If you run into problems or have a question, just click on the "contact" link at the top.  Have fun.
