The Art of Travel: Getting started

Welcome to the Art of Travel.

If you are a student in the course, you can get started by creating an account and logging in.  Read over the directions for creating an account on the help page, and then just click on the "login/create account" link under the banner.  Please don't use your NYU ID or your full name as your user name—the website is public and you'll want something more private—like your first name or a made-up name. Once you have an account and get logged in, read over the instructions for creating a blog post on the Help page. 

When you're ready to get started, do the first post assignment, "Introductions," on the assignment page. Also, if you haven't already done so, take a look at the suggested readings page and get started looking for the books you want to read. If your semester abroad begins later than the regular NYU semester, do the first assignment now anyway. Then just modify the schedule for the rest of the assignments to match up with your academic schedule abroad.  Whenever you start, the basic idea is to post every five days or so, and you can play around a bit with the order of the assignments—and that applies to everyone. Click on the "contact" link and send me a note if you're having any problems.
